Tree branches and limbs over wires and structures should be addressed. A Preferred Tree Service arborist can advise you as to how to maintain trees near wires and structures.  Branches over wires can droop down during heavy snow and ice causing them to rest on wires or pull them down completely.  The wires between the power pole and your home are your responsibility and the power company will not trim around them and can charge you to repair them.

Branches should be kept clear from structures to prevent rubbing and drooping during storms. Branches over roofs can keep the roof wet longer after a rain and cause rotting under them. Keep them clear to allow air flow and sun to quickly dry your roof. Trees also tend to drop seeds, leaves and sticks into valleys and gutters requiring increased maintenance.

Preferred Tree Service arborists are EHAP certified. (Electrical Hazard and Awareness Program) This ongoing program teaches our workers about the hazards of working near power lines and teaches safe work practices as well as emergency procedures should an accident occur. All employees are also First Responder CPR trained.
